Quick answer

A well-built pallet arrives intact and keeps workers safe. In short: inspect; place; stack, then complete the remaining steps below.

Step by step

  1. Inspect the pallet for broken boards or nails.

  2. Place the heaviest cartons on the bottom.

  3. Stack in an interlocking (brick) pattern for stability.

  4. Keep cartons within the pallet’s edges: no overhang.

  5. Keep the top level flat.

  6. Stretch-wrap starting at the base, wrapping the pallet itself, then work up with overlapping layers.

  7. Label the pallet on at least two sides.
